Campus
Saint-Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" is located in the historic center of the city on Aptekarsky Island. It takes only 10 minutes to walk from the metro station Petrogradskaya to University. The way lies along the river Karpovka and then by the Botanic garden which was founded by Peter the Great in 1714. Campus area is bounded by Aptekarsky prospect, Instrumentalnaya and Professora Popova streets.
LETI is 135 years old and University campus is almost 110 years old. During its history all lecture halls, research laboratories, conference halls, gym halls, libraries and canteens were being built for the institution of higher education by famous architects.
The oldest building on campus was built in modern style in 1903 by A.N. Vekshinsky as a front façade of University. There is a library with 1.2 million volumes including priceless publications given to University as a gift by Emperor Alexander III, as well as spacious lecture halls and some laboratories inside this building.
LETI has the biggest net of university cafes in Saint-Petersburg. There is a big gym hall "Dom Sporta", as well as concert hall on campus.
Memorial Museum of A.S. Popov, the inventor of radio and the first elected director of ETU, is also located on campus. It includes professor's memorial museum-laboratory and his memorial flat.
LETI has its own publishing house and a publisher's office "Elektrik".
There are separate buildings for Technopark and archive of documents.
There is a cozy garden in the court yard where students can have a rest between classes.
There are 7 LETI dormitories which are all located close to the metro stations. Our dormitories are well-equipped, safe and comfortable to live in. There are cozy rooms, fitted kitchen, showers, sport rooms, gym and elevators in every hall of residence.
Unique architecture of LETI campus, its conveniences and a good location make student life more comfortable and enjoyable.
The campus of St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI" consists of 13 buildings located in the historic city center on Aptekarsky Island. The university welcomes its guests with its famous Art Nouveau-style facade, built in 1903.

Dormitories and Accommodation


While studying at LETI all International students can get a place in one of seven University dormitories. They are all located close to the metro stations.

Students who live in dormitories are registered at the address of the dormitory. Registration is obligatory for International students according to the law of the Russian Federation.

Our dormitories are well-equipped, safe and comfortable to live in. There are cozy rooms, fitted kitchen, showers, sport rooms, gym and elevators in every hall of residence. Security guards are in dormitories for 24 hours and they are in charge of keeping an order there. Every resident has a pass to get inside the building.

Leisure of students is variable. There are different events and parties carried out in dormitories. For instance, the competition for the best room, the best floor, the culinary competition, Fun English Club for those who want to improve their English and many other interesting events which make students feel like home and bring them a lot of fun.

Students who come to study to our University for the first time can be accommodated on the day of arrival (apart from the weekends and holidays) on the authority of a correspondent agreement and payment. It is also necessary to bring a package of documents to the dean's office for a migration registration. If a student is arriving on a weekend or a day off it's necessary to contact Dean's office for International Students in advance and make a reservation for a place in a dormitory.

Only students can live in dormitories, places for their friends and families are not provided.

International students are entitled to live outside of a dormitory. In this case they will be registered at the legal address of SPbETU.
Living expenses
What to expect if you come to study to Russia?
Average spending is between 25 000 and 50 000 RUB per month on living expenses. This includes rent but not tuition fees.
Costs are roughly as follows:
One visa extension: 1600 RUB a year/semester
Insurance: one-time payment of 4500 RUB
Housing:
  • dormitory – about 1600 RUB a month
  • rented apartment – about 25 000 RUB a month
Living expenses:
  • groceries: 10 000 - 15 000 RUB per month
  • social life: 2000 - 5000 RUB per month
Public transport: about 3100 RUB per month

The Russian ruble (RUB/₽) is the currency of the Russian Federation. 1 ruble is 100 kopeks. Coins in circulation are 1, 5, 10 and 50 kopeks, as well as 1, 2, 5 and 10 rubles.
